Author Guidelines

Prospective authors are invited to submit original manuscripts using the submission link. Authors are advised to adhere strictly to this Author’s Guide to ensure that their submissions are processed as quickly as possible.

Page Requirements and Formatting

Authors are required to adhere strictly to the following page restrictions:

• Original research manuscripts should not exceed 17 pages, typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and one-inch margins on all sides. This includes references, figures, and tables.
• Review papers may extend to 20 pages or more (excluding references), typed in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing and one-inch margins.
• The abstract should not exceed 250 words and must include: Introduction, Objectives, Methodology, Results, and Conclusion/Recommendations.
• All manuscripts must include page numbers.
• All figures must be of high print quality.
• All equations must be prepared using the Equation Editor.
• References must follow the APA style (e.g., author’s name and year of publication).
• Authors must check manuscripts for plagiarism before submission. The journal has zero tolerance for plagiarism.
• The similarity index must be less than 15%. Manuscripts failing this test will be returned for revision and resubmission.
• Authors should avoid unethical or manipulative self-citation.

Manuscripts that do not strictly adhere to these requirements will be returned to the author(s).

Manuscript Structure

All original research manuscripts must be structured as follows:

Title Page

• Title
• Authors’ full names, affiliations, and contact details
• Abstract (with objectives, methodology, key findings, and main conclusions/recommendations)
• Keywords (maximum of six, immediately below the abstract)

Main Sections

Introduction - This section includes a brief background, a clear problem statement, the general and specific objectives of the study, and the research questions and hypotheses. The objectives of the study should be stated at the end of the Introduction. Except for review papers, the Introduction should not have subheadings.

Review of Literature – This section should include a concise overview of existing scholarly work. This section is typically broken down into a conceptual review, a theoretical review, an empirical review, and a summary. Should not be too lengthy.

Methodology - This should cover the specific scientific approach used such as description of study area, sample collection, data collection, model derivations, statistical analyses, etc. The Methodology should be presented under concise but relevant subheading. Authors should avoid too many irrelevant headings.

Results and Discussion - This should cover presentation of analysis of data, results/findings and accompanying discussion, backed up with sufficient relevant references. This discussion of results/implications should interpret findings, explain their significance and link them back to the literature and the study's objectives. As much as possible tables and figures should be used for data presentation and they must be situated in appropriate sections of the manuscript. Do not begin a section with a table, figure or picture. The Results and Discussion section should be presented in concise but relevant subheadings with fully developed paragraphs.

Conclusion – Concise summary of findings and implications.

References – Must follow APA format.

Qualification For Authorship

All listed authors must make substantial contribution to the manuscript being submitted and it is the sole responsibility of the corresponding author to ensure that. It is also the duty of the corresponding author to get the consent of all contributing authors before submission. By submitting an article to the journal, the corresponding author agrees to bear responsibility for any dispute arising from authorship status. Authors are also advised to discuss the order of authorship listing on the manuscript before submission to forestall potential dispute regarding authorship or the order thereof. To qualify as an author(s), a person should have taken part in one or more of the following work phases:

1. Research conceptualization and design
2. Research execution (experiments, data collection, fieldwork)
3. Data analysis
4. Manuscript drafting, interpretation, and discussion

In order to avoid unnecessary conflict, all authors should take part in the following:

• Contribute to drafting and revising the manuscript
• Approve the final version before publication

• Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

The corresponding author is required, on behalf of other contributing authors, to fill, sign and submit the copyright form and statement of originality form immediately the manuscript is accepted

 List of Authors

It is the duty of the corresponding author to ensure that the names and affiliations of all contributing authors are entered during paper submission. Names of authors should be entered in full without any prefixes (e.g.. Prof, Doc, Engr, etc.). Only persons whose names are captured on the list of contributors will be listed as authors during publication. The Journal will not tolerate smuggling in of authors after paper acceptance.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review (neither author nor reviewer knows the other’s identity). Peer review is defined as obtaining advice on individual manuscripts from reviewers. Papers submitted are usually sent out for review after initial editorial screening. Articles will be subjected to and must pass a plagiarism check before they can be sent out for peer review.

Double-blind review system is used in such a way to ensure the author(s) and reviewer do not know each other. This ensures that there is no conflict of interest, high confidentiality and for objective reviewing of articles for qualitative publications. Papers submitted are usually sent out for review after initial editorial screening. Articles will be subjected to and must pass a plagiarism check before it can be sent out for peer review.

A key policy is that articles submitted to the journal, should not have been nor will be submitted to any other journal or conference while still under review or after being accepted for publication.

After Acceptance

The corresponding author will be notified of acceptance/rejection of paper, this includes payment of processing charges. Copy-editing of the submitted manuscript starts immediately the article processing charge (APC) is paid. The corresponding author will be informed on completion (via email address submitted) to proofread the copy-edited manuscript, identify and correct errors (if any). Usually, the corresponding author will receive an email notification from our manuscript management system that copy-editing is complete. All corrections are made once only and returned within one week, otherwise the paper publication may be delayed. Upon online publication all authors registered on our website will be notified by e-mail immediately. A PDF of the paper with complete citation details can be downloaded by all authors from the journal website. Hard copies are only issued on demand at the expense of the other party. FHIJ is published monthly. Authors receive email notifications upon publication, and PDF copies can be downloaded from the website. Hard copies are available on request at cost. 

Article Processing Charges (APC)

An Article Processing Charge (APC) of ₦40,000 (Nigeria) or $60 (international) applies per accepted article.

All manuscripts submitted shall be subject to a flat article processing charge of forty thousand Naira (#40,000) or sixty USD ($60) only, payable upon acceptance. Upon acceptance, authors are to make their payments to the bank account below:

Manuscript Withdrawal

Once peer review process has been initiated, you will no longer be able to withdraw your manuscript unless the process lingers for over a month. If you decide to withdraw your manuscript during peer review, then you will pay the Journal a processing charge of ten thousand Naira (#10,000.00) only and then serve us a withdrawal notice. If you decide to withdraw your paper after peer review, you will pay the journal a processing charge of twenty thousand Naira (#20,000). All requests for manuscript withdrawal must be in the form of an official letter of withdrawal signed by all authors and sent as an attachment to the Editor-in-Chief at forshenhub@gmail.com

Submission of The Same Manuscript to Another Journal

Any manuscript submitted to the Journal must NOT be under consideration by any other journal. This implies that the manuscripts submitted to Forshen Hub Journal of Economics and Business Management must be (i) original papers that have not been submitted to any other journal or (ii) original papers that have been conclusively processed by other journals but not found suitable for publication. Authors are highly discouraged from submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals as this is a violation of article publication ethics. 

Conflict of Interest or Competing Interest

Authors must ensure that they have no conflict of interest regarding the research they intend to publish in the Journal. All potential conflicts of interest or resemblance thereof should be stated at the end of the manuscript, before the references.

Privacy Statement

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
